About Us
Our team consists of family members,  close friends and Bailey the camp dog. We  have a long tradition of catering to our outdoor clientele for over 100 years. Each of our team members play an important role in providing you with a first class outdoor experience. Your proprietors,  Travis and Brandy Libby strive to make your family part of our family.

Travis Libby,  operations manager of Camp Wapiti has worn many hats over the years. At the age of ten, Travis worked for another well known sporting camp in the region,  Bowlin Pond Camps, owned byJon and Betty Smallwood. Until the age of seventeen, Travis was a chore boy at Bowlin Pond Camps doing daily chores such as processing firewood to bear baiting ,  skinning game, lawn maintence,  planting gardens,  shoveling camp roofs,  dragging snowmobile trails and tending to the farm animals that were on the property.  Travis also worked for Katahdin Lodge doing the same type of work. Things have changed a lot from that time when bear bait was picked up at local farms and cut,  packaged and frozen for the upcoming bear season.
Travis's father, David Libby, also a Maine Guide worked for Bowlin Camps as a young man.  David went on to be the State of Maine's Vocational Forestry Instructor of the Year. Travis's  grandfather Harley Libby was a Master Guide and guided hunting and fishing trips in the northern part of Maine from Bradford Camps. Harley was featured in the book Bound for Munsungan by author Jack Ahern. Travis, his father David Libby and his three uncles  Harley Jr. , Kenneth, and Dick Libby are all Master Guides and have been guiding and working in the Maine woods for many years. If you mention the Libby name in the state of Maine to outdoor people, they know our family well. Travis's  two best friends, Jay and Matt Burpee also provide  40 years worth of knowledge of the outdoors to the team. We have a strong desire to be the best and to share our knowledge of the outdoors with our clients.
Young or old Camp Wapiti gives you
an outdoor experience like no other.
